Spend a day in the coastal capital city and squeeze in some beach time on the scenic coast at Sesimbra. The hilly capital has many iconic sites and great viewpoints of the city's red-roofed buildings and river Tagus.
These two sites in the city center serve as excellent viewpoints of colonial Quito. El Panecillo has several stalls selling food, drink, and souvenirs. La Libertad has a museum with the history of the Battle of Pichincha.
Found in the north of Quito, Ciudad Mitad del Mundo is a complex with museums where you can learn about the site and Ecuador. You can climb to the top of the central monument for views of the landscape and city.
Check out the bars with a view of the city skyline at Boat Quay, get a taste of the middle east at Arab street, explore Chinese culture in China town, and check out the indoor waterfall at the airport before leaving.
