One of the tallest waterfalls in the world is hidden in proximity to the Peruvian Amazon near the town of Chachapoyas. A true off the beaten path experience, getting there can be taxing but well worth the trip.
Flights in South America are relatively expensive so the most popular form of transport is by coach. The two-day trip going through the Ecuadorean Andes and Peruvian coast was tiring but well worth the journey.
